Nick Costides is global vice president of information technology for UPS. In this role, Nick has global responsibility for UPS’s industry-leading portfolio of operations and automation technologies, which enable the processing, sortation and delivery of millions of packages each day worldwide. He also heads the UPS technology strategy group, co-chairs the emerging technology advisory committee and is a member of the information technology governance committee.
Prior to assuming his current position, Nick was the UPS transportation technology group vice president, responsible for all technology solutions for UPS Airlines, Worldport, the company’s state-of-the-art mega package processing facility, the UPS Global Transportation Network, and the UPS Global Customs Brokerage business. He also served as vice president of UPS customer technology, where he was responsible for all solutions that directly touch the customer.
Nick has a proven track record of leading large-scale global organizations and initiatives during a 30-year career that spans continents, lines of business, and corporate disciplines. His professional recognitions include Computerworld Premiere 100 IT Leader 2014 and Information Week Elite 100 number one ranking in 2015. He also has secured several patents that support UPS’s intellectual property.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Nick serves on the advisory council for ToolBank USA, and is a member of the executive advisory board of the Association of Technology Professionals. He also is a member of the industrial board of advisors for the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering and serves on the board of directors for Points of Light.
Nick has a history of service to the community, including serving as past board of directors chair for Hands On Atlanta, past board president and advisory board chair for ToolBank USA, and technology advisor to United Way Worldwide.
