Jared Chung

Founder and Executive Director

CareerVillage.org

Jared Chung is the founder and executive director of CareerVillage.org. Inspired by experiences he had as a young person seeking career guidance, and as a young professional mentoring underserved youth, Jared left his career at McKinsey & Company to found CareerVillage.org. Based in Palo Alto, the nonprofit uses crowdsourcing to provide personal career advice to students at very large scale, with the help of tens of thousands of online volunteers. Their platform has already delivered career advice to more than 2 million online learners. The team has been recognized with innovation and education awards from Lumina Foundation, FFWD, Points of Light, MassChallenge, and more. Jared advocates for career readiness for youth, leveraging technology to drive social impact, and more support for online volunteering experiences that engage a broader cross-section of people.

What Others Are Saying

The emphasis on cross-sector collaboration was eye-opening, and everyone I met walked away with fresh perspectives and ideas. It broke down the silos of inward-facing sectors and showed us how much more powerful our work can be when we come together. An unbeatable experience!

The conference proved to be one of the most engaging and exciting professional gatherings of like-minded people I've ever attended. Although the topics, content, and presentations all appropriately centered around volunteering and service in some way, the sheer range of them was simply astounding.
